When an Argentine man and his wife became parents to twins, they were surprised to see that their little girls were born with snow-white hair, as they were the first twins with albinism in their country.

Now, four years later, the proud parents claim that their daughters are as healthy as they should be.

When Jorge Antonio Gomez, 42, and Leila Judith Romero, 39, found out they were expecting twins when they were four months pregnant, they were surprised and overwhelmed with emotion.

At 36 weeks pregnant, Leila gave birth to two beautiful daughters, Catalina and Virginia.

The girls were born with albinism.

Albinism is a group of inherited disorders in which the pigment melanin is absent or greatly reduced in quantity.

The amount and type of melanin in the body determines the color of the skin, eyes, and hair. Therefore, people with albinism have light skin, hair, and eyes.

Since the birth of his twins, Jorge has been actively debunking misconceptions about the disease.

“People mistakenly believe that albinism is a disability, so there is ridicule and fear when they are seen,” he said.

Sharing more about Catalina and Virginia, the father of three explained that their condition is not life-threatening, but their skin needs to be protected from the sun and they should wear glasses to avoid damaging their eyes.

Jorge also expressed gratitude to God for the good health of his children.

For parents, the best moments with their daughters are watching them play and have fun
